Where did the idea of molding originate?

While moldings have been used in mansions and buildings today, and a thousand years ago, and two thousand years ago, they take root at the Acropolis - which is thought of as the holy grail and the beginnings of architectural embellishments and details. It first started out as the Frieze that is located, which is located right below the Cornice and is part of the overall Entablature.

Throughout time, the crown molding has become more and more elaborate, which is beautifully portrayed in the Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in Greater London. It has incredibly elaborate architectural details and really detailed deep relief moldings. It is beautifully done, and they are made with intense detail in the particular repetition that is made in the design. While most modern homes do not feature such elaborate moldings as the Strawberry Hill House or Louis the XIV's Versailles palace, they still bring beauty and definition to any interior and bring a touch of elegance to your life.
