Early 19th C. French Louis Vuitton and Goyard trunk and luggage workshops exported to the traveling upper classes of the world. As trunk-making techniques became more advanced, these makers produced virtuoso examples of the French styles. Complete traveling closets were made to accommodate the elaborate dresses, suits, and uniforms of the Belle Epoque. Collection of nostalgic but highly practical
reproduction trunks inspired by originals from the turn of the century. Trunk-armoires feature a multitude of shelves and drawers to store and display. Hand-sewn bridle leather straps and brass hardware support a foldout shelf for use as workspace. It opens to a removable, inset shelf-unit with a removable mirror stored in the back. The rattan compartment underneath will hold laundry and shoes.

of which four will lock.

Made in the style of turn-of-the-century travel trunks. Solid brass hardware and bridle leather accouterments complete a hand-built, two-part bar inside a large trunk set on sturdy wheels. A multitude of drawers, two serving trays, racks for both horizontal and vertical bottles. Mirror and foldout work shelf. Taking out the shelf unit on the right frees up a removable game board.

Victorian luggage was made to be shipped by horse drawn coach and train travel. It was sent ahead and handled by porters only. The tall square shape of our 'end table' trunk was made to fit more easily into tight steamer and long distance train cabins. Plus it easily swallowed a tall black stovepipe hat... The classic maple hoops strengthened by brass corners and other hardware were designed to protect against damages. Enjoy the flavor of a bygone luxury age and combine it's fin-de-siècle appeal with

When the Gare Central was manned by porters carrying multiple travel trunks to the Pullman Coupe or your private carriage on the Orient Express… When travel was for restless souls with matching bank accounts and a yen for romance. When a Rolls coupe was delivered with a picnic trunk strapped to a tail-rack. And when this trunk held a complete setting for twelve, including champagne flutes and dispensers for foie gras and Petrossian.

Once there was a time when porters took care of luggage. Appearing elegant and decorative, an army of trunks were loaded into the baggage car or the ship’s hold. Royalty and upper-class in the Belle Époque traveled with specialized trunks. Armoires, bars, libraries, and of course hat-trunks and trunks for the prize-winning poodle. Antique French trunks with famous brand names now catch exorbitant sums at auction.
Except for the logo, our trunks are closely inspired by the old, classic travel trunks of yore. Polo Club trunks feature a strong wood frame covered with distressed painted canvas and steamer-varnished hardwood slats. Trunk coffee tables have solid hand made brass hardware in antique bronzed finish. Every trunk carries two sliding trays painted in signal-red.
