My wife and I have found that we kind of have more of a traditional style in our home. So we’ve chosen corbels that have a nice scroll to them. They look very nice and classic and they add a nice detail to our living room.

I agree with Jon. I like the scrolls. A scroll with the ancanthus leaf really looks nice. Very classy.

Many kitchens today are very simple in design so it is nice to add some more traditional detal to bring a sense of craftmanship to the overall feel. The large selection of hand-carved corbels and carvings offered by Invitinghome.com certainly allows us to pick an item we can relate two.
Just recently we addded three acanthus corbels to support our countertop overhang. Also, my wife noticed that simple pain panel right below the sink needed to be dressed up so we added a pair of Ventura Scrolls. This tied in with the corbels and made a plain cupboard face pop.

I really like the corbel in the picture. I looked around your website and I think it’s the Chicago wood bracket. Is that correct? I want to make sure before I purchase it.
- Paul, October 17th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Hi Paul – yes. That is the Chicago wood bracket. I have them installed in my own kitchen and they look great. I highly reccommend them.
- Kevin, October 20th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
I love the Chicago Style corbel. I don’t know what it is about it, but I just love the curve to them. I purchased some of these and had them installed on an overhang on the outside of my house. They look fantastic! Before purchasing the corbels I was wondering if people would actually notice if I made the change. Wow, did everyone notice. Almost every person that came over to my house noticed (since you do walk under them to get to the front door)
- Lilly, October 23rd, 2008 at 5:26 pm
You like the chicago style bracket, but its not really my style. The corbel that i like best is the either the CF12 or the SC1. I love how there pretty simple and very blocky. I guess it all boils down to personal preference!
- Ali, October 30th, 2008 at 11:51 am
There really is a lot to think about when putting a corbel into the kitchen. I had to look around my room and really think about what would look good with the current style before I made a decision on which corbel should hold up my countertop. Incidentally, I actually chose the Chicago Bracket that is featured in the article/picture. I think it definitely added a nice quality to my kitchen, that’s for sure.
- Jennika, November 4th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
My wife insists on a classical feel in the kitchen, and the whole house for that matter. The scrolls in the corbel that we have chosen definitely add a good touch to create that theme. It’s a good thing there are so many choices to choose from. I’m guessing that anybody could find a corbel with any theme they may have.
- Barnaby, November 7th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
I like the sleek lines that are carved into the corbels. They’re so beautiful and I love the ones that we just purchased and installed. They’re lovely.
- Erin, November 10th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
I definitely love to have a more eclectic look to my corbels. I love taking very different styles and have them complement eachother– my opinion is that having them all exact doesnt bring about a homey atmosphere that i crave.
- Colleen, November 12th, 2008 at 1:35 am
I like using old french styles, it brings me back to my roots. So I like the clean carvings that are made on these corbels. They bring out the detail nicely. It makes me appreciate the detail that it adds to my home.
- Babette, November 12th, 2008 at 10:26 am
I think that yes, the clean lines look great. They are a complete asset to my kitchen. And I love how a lot of them come in different sizes so that I can have some for my hood and some more my counters, even though they may need to be different sizes, at least they can match!
- Yasmin, November 13th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
I think the selection of corbels on this site are great. I’ve been looking for a good corbel to support my mantel and I have finally found one. The clean cuts and craftmanship is great!
- John, November 17th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
I just bought these cheasy little brackets from Home depot. I just returned all of them today after seeing that there are so many awesome choices on this website. I had no idea that there were websites dedicated to these types of enhancements!
- Pete, November 19th, 2008 at 6:19 pm
I like how this corbel shown is very simple yet has a nice style too.
- Anibal, November 20th, 2008 at 12:30 pm
It has been really hard to find a corbel and bracket, but I finally have chosen a very nice one from your website. I think it is the Los Angeles corbel. I like the open back and it will look great in my kitchen to support the counter I will be getting next week. Thanks.
- James, November 26th, 2008 at 10:32 am
I like more of a contemporary look. I was looking through the catalogs at my cabinet shop and I really didn’t find anything that caught my eye. However, when I became frustrated with those, I turned to the internet. Thank God for google! I found this site and when I saw the Delray bracket, I knew that was the solution for me. It doesn’t have all of those frills and curves, but it still can support my granite countertop. I’m just relieved I found something that suited all of my needs.
- Thomas, December 2nd, 2008 at 1:56 pm
I know exactly what you mean Thomas! I was having the same hard time. It’s hard because I know that for me at least, I didn’t want to just settle for any old corbel that would do the job. I wanted some style too! So I happened to come onto this website and found the perfect corbel. It was a relief to finally put my search to an end. And now they are a fantastic asset to my kitchen. I keep coming back to this site because I’ve actually been looking for some nice onlays to compliment my kitchen even further.. so many choices of everything on this site! It’s crazy!
- Debbie, December 4th, 2008 at 11:47 am
I’m a pretty simple man. So the Delray bracket is my favorite. I bought some for my countertop and they look great. They add a nice detail but not too much though.
- Vito, December 9th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
So I finally allowed my husband to make his own bar in our basement. We used the same corbels that are in the picture and I cannot tell you enough how much we love them. They turned out great.
- Celia, December 15th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
Wow, I wish my wife would let me build my own bar! That would be a nice little project for me and let me stay out of her hair during the holidays. I’m thinking I should start building one. Great idea, thanks.
- Chris, December 17th, 2008 at 5:01 pm
We’re installing a gorgeous stone fireplace and we’ve been looking for the perfect corbel to hold up the mantel. I definitely think we have made the right decision with the mission corbels that we have chosen. The charleston corbels to be exact.
- Diane, December 23rd, 2008 at 2:12 pm
I’m a contractor and I have been coming to this website for years whenever a client needs to find the right corbel, or molding, or anything that this site might offer. It’s a great website and very easy to navigate. With that being said, thank you for making my job that much easier!
- Michael, December 24th, 2008 at 12:50 pm
I know what you mean Michael! I’m a designer and this website has completely helped me out. My clients and I go through the website together so that we can pick out the perfect carving, corbel, or even molding, and we’re on the same page about everything. This website is great and I recommend it to all of my clients. And everything is pretty much shipped in a very timely manner. I am a huge fan.
- Teresa, December 30th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
style is pretty important in my houshold.. especially to my wife. we finally chose a good corbel for us though. it doesn’t have too much going on and i like that, and it still has enough flourish to please the eye (and the wife).
- Charles, December 31st, 2008 at 10:13 am
The style is also hard to choose. And in this case Size DOES Matter!(Ha ha ha!!!) In all seriousness though, both factors need to be taken into consideration. This website really does offer a nice arrange of corbels and brackets. From pretty plain to really really really ornate. It’s nice to have some really good options.
- John, January 2nd, 2009 at 4:43 pm
I absolutely love the many choices of corbels that i could find on this website. I swear, it was a god sent. I think that when your worst problem is trying to decide which beautiful design to chose from. I never even thought of how many things I could possibly be used for. I now see corbels almost everywhere. Which makes me happy because since I couldn’t decide, now i can use the different styles in all of the different parts of my house. I am ecstatic with my discovery.

Whoever said “your home is your castle” is so true as the home is your biggest asset and is your castle. Considering many people are with their homes for close to thirty years, why not really make your home like a palace. Some people opt for someone professional to come in and construct crown mouldings and other wall adornments. The question I have is why? When you can visit invitinghome.com and buy mouldings and corbels and when you buy them you can even learn how to install them in your home, saving a boat load of money in labor. Inviting Home offers architectural and home decor products as well as advice and ideas on using these products.
What I like about the site it is fast loading and there is a lot of information to go through. Also it easy to navigate through the site. Check it out today if you are looking to spice your home but don’t want to pay the high cost of carpentars and handymen to do the work for you.

I am HORRIBLE at making decisions. I have to ask everyone else what they want to do or what they want to eat because I’m a “go for anything” kind of girl. So it has been really hard for me to decide on a corbel. I think I have narrowed it down between the fluted mission and the new york corbel. I like both. I’ll have to consult someone else to find out which one I should go with.
- Ashley, January 14th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
Well, if you haven’t made the decision yet.. you should go for the fluted mission corbel. It has a little bit of detail, but has a very classic look to it also. Just a thought.
- Shawn, January 19th, 2009 at 5:49 pm
I have a lot clients that have a hard time with this issue. It really is hard deciding what kind of corbel would best suit the space, but also be functional, which is the more important thing anyway. I recommend looking around the space that these are going to be installed in and see what kind of characteristics about that room stand out the most. You’ll want to, first and foremost, pick out a corbel that will fit into that area that they are being installed, and secondly try to match it with the room so that they compliment each other.
- Ryan, January 20th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
I pretty much love to decorate my home, and it really has it’s own style, as every home does. So when I needed to shop for some new corbels to be installed to support our hood vent, I knew I needed something good. I am so glad I stumbled across this website. They had the corbel that matched my kitchen perfectly. Now I’m thinking about remodeling my kitchen some more and maybe buying some matching corbels to support the counter that I’m thinking of putting in. It would be great to make sure they matched!
- Carole, January 30th, 2009 at 11:18 am
We have a pretty modern home, so we wanted to get a modern type of corbel. We decided that the New York looked pretty good. They have nice features that are simple and clean cut. They will be perfect to hold up our new mantel. To anyone who is having a tough time deciding: check them out!
- Marla, February 13th, 2009 at 5:50 pm
I have finally decided on a granite counter top for my kitchen and I was curious to know a little more about the corbels before I made my purchase. I started reading and to my surprise I found out so much information that I didn’t even know existed! Your website is so detailed and has helped me out so much!
- Andrea, March 16th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
I had a very tough decision to make when choosing corbels, but I guess it is not of those problems that are actually good. I couldn’t choose between the acanthus leaf, the grape, or the flowers. I settled with mixing up the two patterns and my design turned out to be great!I stained them into a dark mahogany color– it’s beautiful!
