Ceiling Domes: the Future Inspired by the Past
It is natural for people to strive for the best. Even a few decades ago, no one even dreamt of having the kind of architectural ceiling details that have easily become a defining characteristic of our lives today with the new materials and possibilities. Those particular characteristics and ceilings embellishments can be easily achieved with the products found on InvitingHome.com.
Through the centuries, people have been decorating their homes by beautifying them and creating a sense of calm. There is a great assortment of ways to make your house more appealing and creating an original personality with your own signature ceiling. To be at home, there is a desire for it to feel incredibly warm, cozy, pleasing, and calming. Is it simple to achieve such an effect.
You can take different approaches with the goal of redefining the interior of your home. For many, to beautify their home means that they are to do so themselves – to rely on your own skills, taste, and mistakes to create your own interior – but don’t forget that there are times to get help from an interior designer or architect. The ceiling is one of the largest blank canvases of your home, but slips from the mind as the possibility of adding character to your house. With the modernization of materials and creativity, there are new breakthroughs in ceiling designs. The ceiling is a great way to tailor the room to a certain feel or to give the room structure that is not simply reminiscent of a box. The amazing items that give birth to such possibilities include ceiling medallions, ceiling rims, ceiling domes, as well as panel molding with decorative corners. It is not only a great way to bring life to a new home, but is suitable for restorations of historical interiors.

I guess I never really thought about putting any detail into my ceiling. But now that I think of it, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen these ceiling medallions everywhere. I have been wanting to change something about my living space for a while now and I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do, but now I think I might have some ideas. Thank you for the inspiration.

I think the idea of a ceiling medallion is fantastic! It really adds a lot of room to be creative too. I read on another part of this website somewhere that someone installed a dome, but they had made tiny holes in it and lit it from behind to create a starry night. How clever! I know that’s not exactly MY idea, but I think I may need to borrow it anyway.

Thats right Jody. Thats the way you have to do things. You need to take inspiration from other people. Once you finally find something that actually catches your eye and you decide you can’t live with out it, you just need to go for it. You gotta just save up and splurge for it. It makes all the difference!

Exactly! Other people got their inspiration from someone else too. It’s a never ending cycle of inspiration. The key is to change it enough to make it your own – which will also inspire other people to do other things. Ceiling medallions and ceiling domes add so much to the room. And ceiling domes add more depth to the room – literally! The domes offered with the lighting ring is also fantastic – it provides a beautiful centerpiece in the room, and also has some beautiful indirect lighting options. Be creative and let your imagination go wild!

I never really would have thought about putting a dome in my house. When I hear the word “dome” I think of the Jefferson Memorial or something. But these seem like they’re a pretty easy product to work with. It would be nice to add a little something to my home. This has been very helpful.

This is very interesting. I have been thinking about doing something new to my home and this seems like a good route. And it’s also something that not that many people have in their own homes. It’ll make us that much more unique, which my wife will love.
- Travis, December 17th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
I agree. Who would of thought that molding on the ceiling like that would look good. Oh wait, in classic architecture. haha But seriously, I cant wait to be able to upgrade my ceilings like that. Not only will it look great, but its going to add so much value to my home!

A ceiling dome is such a great idea! I never even knew that it was possible to get a dome in my own house. I’m definitely going to have to talk to my husband about this.
- Irene, December 23rd, 2008 at 2:38 pm
We live in the suburbs and you know how it is when all of the housewives get together. It makes me sick actually, but we just installed a new dome, at my wife’s request, and now everyone else wants one too. I guess this place will be getting even more business. It really does look great though. It’s pretty impressive in our entrance. It opens it up even more and the lighting cove that came with it gives off a great glow. It was definitely worth it.

when i looked at these domes, I fell in love with how they looked. I was not sure about whether the unbelievable beauty was worth the the trouble. I was excited to find out that i was not really trouble at all!I cannot wait to have one in my house very soon.

Ceiling domes are a great way to open the room up even more. And they’re extremely impressive! One of my buddies just installed one into his house. I wouldn’t like to copy him exactly, but that may be one new item that will need to be installed into our home.

I am completely in love with the idea of having my very own dome in my house! I think it will be a great feature that will create a spacious feel in our foyer, even though it’s a bit small. I am truly excited about this. I can’t wait until my husband gets home so I can show him my plan!

honestly, I was very skeptical about having a dome in my home. I thought it would be absolutely unbearably tough to install. that there would be no possible way that it could look great with my modern decor, but my decorator still insisted. I am so happy that i agreed to have it put in– partly because now i know i don’t have to rip half of my ceiling out to get it down. =)

I install these things and honestly, when the first client that had wanted me to put this in contacted our office, I was really skeptical about what it would be like to install this. It was a hell of a lot easier than I though it would be, that’s for sure. And each project that I have done since seems to get easier and easier. I’m finding that domes are getting very popular in our area of CA. And they look great after they are installed.

I’ve been seeing more and more about ceiling domes. And I’ve been noticing them a lot more in places that I never really would have thought about. I actually visited some friends back home this past weekend and they just recently added a dome into their living room. It really makes the place look like something else! It really opened up the room since the last time I was there. I was definitely impressed.

The idea of having a ceiling dome is beyong what I ever would have thought or expected, but my wife came up with the idea and I think it’s a good one. We just ordered it and we’ll be looking forward to seeing it in three weeks (I think that’s what the cust. service rep. said). Either way, it is going to look great in our home.
- Pepe, January 21st, 2009 at 1:24 pm
This is so great. This is a way to make my house beautiful, my wife happy, and have it made easy! And with the all of the many designs that you have available we can have the perfect dome that reflects my taste as well as the tastes of my life– this is truly heaven!

I never really thought about ceiling domes before. I didn’t even know they were available in homes, much less to the general public. I think it’s great that a website like this allows consumers to have any type of luxury they can possibly think of!
- Mary Kay, February 13th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
I came across this website and fell in love with it. I’m really big into remodeling projects and so I was surfing through this site, and I am pretty sure I have seen every item that is available. I especially fell in love with the domes. I never really thought about installing one into my home, but then I decided, what the heck, I’ll go for it. We just finished the installation of it and it looks fantastic! I recommend this type of project to anyone who is trying to open up a room, or who is bored with their home.

I really am interested in ceiling domes. I like the idea of the lighting cove in the Sienna dome because I don’t necessarily want the molding for indirect lighting, since I have already decided on a beautiful crown molding that will go very well with the room. I like indirect lighting too, so I think I am going to go with a dome. And I think it will look fantastic!
- Barbara, February 26th, 2009 at 11:23 am
I thought ceiling domes were only for places like banks and municipal buildings. I found it very interesting that domes are able to be put into the homes as well. I have been looking for ways to open up my living room, and I think installing a ceiling dome would be perfect!
- Cyndi, March 5th, 2009 at 11:27 am
I totally agree with you on that Cyndi. I also thought that maybe they were only for homes with 10′or 12′ ceilings. Looking on the website I realize that I can paint it the way I like to fit my home, and I think that is just great! I know it will add more personality to my living room. So many styles to choose from, now this is the hard part!

I work for a construction company and we just did a project where a local town library wanted a ceiling dome. One of our employees has come across this website previously and recommended searching here. We were surprised we had never heard of this company before, but we are certainly excited to use it in the future. The items on this website are impressive. We found a dome that meets our clients needs and the dome turned out great.
