This elegant shelf is masterfully crafted from hand-selected premium hardwood
and designed for installation above fireplace. The mantel shelf displays an
internal design and construction that combines strength, rigidity and a mounting
system that can bear the load of a full-thickness granite top without deflection from the wall. Achieving such effect is typically possible only with
a built-in mantel and/or stiles on the sides that are large enough to provide
support for the mantel.
Fireplace shelf finished in a sequence of
hand-applied sealants and shellacs, completed with a special natural finishing
wax. The final result compares to the finishes used in the finest furniture and
period reproductions
