Bohemian Crystal Chandeliers

All of the beautiful chandeliers introduced on this page are made in Italy with Bohemian crystal. Five of the crystal chandeliers are hand-crafted in French style and have nature inspired hand wrought iron frames with unique hand applied finishes.

Bohemian crystal chandeliers finished in antique white, green, gold and burnished wrought iron finishes. Clear, gold and amber Bohemian crystals were used for embellishments of the chandeliers. One of the crystal chandelier from this collection along with Bohemian crystal is also dressed with gorgeous masterfully crafted Venetian glass flowers. Sizes of the French style Bohemian crystal chandeliers vary from 25 to 38 inches in height and from 27 to 35 inches in width.

Several chandeliers from our Bohemian chandeliers collection are designed in Louis XV style. These chandeliers have dark burnished cast brass frames and are lavishly styled with Bohemian crystal pendants. Louis XV Bohemian crystal chandeliers vary in size from 32 to 42 inches in height and from 20 to 32 inches in width.

Empire Crystal Chandeliers

Some of the crystal chandeliers on this page are hand crafted in the Empire style. All of our Empire crystal chandeliers have antique gilded wrought iron frames. Chandeliers are richly embellished with crystal beads, buttons and swags.

Some of the crystal chandeliers have elegantly curved crystal beaded arms and crowns. All crystal chandeliers are hand crafted in Italy to the highest quality standards. Empire style crystal chandeliers vary in size from 15 to 45 inches in height and from 13 to 32 inches in width.

The History of Crystal Chandeliers

Chandeliers stated being adorned with crystal rock, but it was very difficult to work with due to how brittle and rare it was. In 1676, soft crystalline was developed and used until 1700 when Venetian island of Murano began producing large amounts of hand-blown Venetian glass. In 1800s an Austrian jewelry maker who worked with leaded glass crystals, Daniel Swarovski expanded his business into the crafting of chandeliers.

Chandeliers have so much history and have such a great variety of feelings and images that they bring up. When one looks at the chandeliers adorned with fine Swarovski crystals they cannot help but imagine beautiful women in floor-length gowns on their way to a classy dinner party. During those times, there was no electricity available, oils and candles were used. Doing so created a flickering glow that created a romantic and cozy feel to the space. Our electrified chandeliers are meant to recreate the warm and cozy glow. Each crystal is attached individually as to move along with any breeze that is in the room- it is a great effect due to the fact that it will move and react to the environment as a natural being wood, instead of remaining stationary and unaffected.

It is a great way to add a sparkle and an interest in your home without having to resort to something as large and as serious as a chandelier. It is also a very helpful design element due to the modern open floor design plans due to the fact that when you put a chandelier in one room and would like another interesting lighting solution in the next room as to not have the two chandeliers clash in styles and their grandeur.

There are many styles to choose from—some more subtle and others that really shine. The Florentine Crystal Ceiling Light and the Crystal Ceiling Light are both rather small, but they definitely demand attention with the delicate, yet simple design. These particular ones are very modern, but have a rather nostalgic and classical touch to the designs. You may even recall these particular patterns and designs from your grandmother’s crystal bowls or crystal vases.
