Neoclassic Sconce

This wall sconce is representative of the decorative treatment of the the late 18 century, the period of neoclassicism. Whereby the very refined ornamentation and silhouette of the sconce reflects the late 18th century admiration of classical Greek and Roman ornamentation. Sculptural enrichment in a form of a scalloped shell crowning this sconce, and the soft lines of a dropping floral swag contrasting the strict geometrical lines of a Greek key elements on the side. This wall sconce is hand crafted in Italy. The sconce is electrified and has two candle lights gloriously placed on the scrolled arms. Wall sconce has a hand applied antiqued gold leaf finish.
