Tennessee corbel designed with classic foliate scroll on the sides. Front of the corbels has carved in a deep relief floral motif. The graphic elegance of the carved design featured on the Tennessee corbels is remarkable, especially in the balance between conventionalized elements and their adjacent space (between figures and their foreground).  Each element whether it is a foliate scroll on the sides of the corbels, or center flower with radiating leaves, is individual in succinct visual forms. The border scroll of the corbel presents a pure line work with precise geometrically spiraling terminals. This corbel is hand carved from premium selected North American hard maple.
